Curious about pottery making as a small child, any museum visit always left Cheryl wondering what it must be like to create a vessel with earth, two hands, and a wheel. Over two decades later, she finally indulged that curiosity.

Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Cheryl migrated to Austin, TX in 2005. She began studying ceramics in 2008 under the tutelage of some of the most impressive potters in Texas. She currently produces and sells work at Austin Pottery where she maintains a space as a resident potter. Her work is also featured at Texcetera Art Gallery in Johnson City, TX.

Cheryl enjoys creating functional items for practical use within the home. She is fond of forms that people foster a personal relationship with like their favorite daily coffee mug or bowl. She jokingly refers to her style as "obsessive," as much of her more recent work features some form of texture, intricate carving or "doodles."  Most of the work featured in her portfolio is thrown using high fire light bodied clays like white stoneware and b-mix fired to cone 10 in a gas kiln. Her work is available for purchase locally in Austin, Texas and online.

Cheryl is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, working professionally as a Communication and Marketing executive in the tech industry. Her current fixations outside of the studio? Training her two dogs to be conscientious studio mates, writing, family, road trips and the passionate eradication of daylight savings time (aka, silliness).
