non traditional forms
Non-traditional forms are pieces I create with no dedicated functional purpose in mind. These pieces have been purchased and used to add aesthetic warmth to various areas within the home. I'm sure some would say these pieces come from a flood of science fiction and an over-developed sense of fantasy, but some have been fortunate accidents! -
mugs
I've grown to appreciate the skill and time it takes to create a set of mugs at the same height, glaze and style. I tend to create mugs for large coffee drinkers like myself. Most comfortably hold 12-16 ounces of liquid. All are dishwasher and food safe. -
jars and lidded pieces
Who knew calipers would become one of my favorite tools? Most of my lidded items can fall under the category of non traditional. I am a huge fan of Egyptian vessels and ornate jars popular in Africa and Asia. Most of my lidded items can be used for cookie jars and serving dishes, but I leave their function up to you. -
vases
Most of my vase forms feature some additional hand work, either hand built additions, carving, chattering or glaze treatment. I love earth tones, most of my favorite work falls in that category. I'm looking forward to adding some taller forms with carving reflective of African, Asian and Greek forms. -
pots
Flower pots big and small, I make these custom for the "green thumbs" among my friends and family. All pots do not include drainage holes unless indicated. -
bowls
What problem can't be solved with a bowl? I have a dear friend that has a sick addiction to bowls...but honestly, they are a great ceramic form that can free up your imagination as you explore different ways to make them come to life.
